U-SCHOS
WHERE WE BEGAN

The UCSI Scholars Circle (U-Schos) is made up of scholarship awardees of UCSI University Trust, whose achievements demonstrate a sustained level of excellence in academics, sports and extra-curricular activities. As the name suggests, the alphabet ‘U’ indicates UCSI University whereas ‘Schos’ refers to Scholarship Awardees. The symbolic feather icon of U-Schos represents a scholar on UCSI’s wings who best exudes UCSI University’s aspirations. In-line with our motto ‘Youth Beyond Boundaries’, we progress towards empowering potential young leaders by providing them a platform to strive to greater heights beyond boundaries as we believe every youth has the capabilities to be successful.
OUR NOTABLE WORKS
the picha project
A social enterprise which aims to empower refugees in Malaysia through a sustainable food catering and delivery business. There are over 150,000 registered refugees in Malaysia that are denied from work, education, and healthcare. Delivered over 60,000 meals and helped over 60 refugees earning income that is 250% above min. wage and allowing them to send their children to school. The 3 Founders of Picha Project have been awarded The Edge Inspiring Young Leaders Awards 2017 and also won the Chivas Venture Malaysia award.

Journey to Belong
“Journey to Belong” is an awareness programme organised by U-Schos and supported by UNHCR, the UN mandated agency to work with refugees and stateless persons. Through this programme, we aim to create awareness among the public and the youth community on the issue of statelessness in both Malaysian and global contexts, aligning ourselves to UNHCR’s Global Campaign to End Statelessness by 2024.
Sponsor-A-Child Project (SACP)
Sponsor-A-Child Project (SACP) was kick-started by Hands of Hope, an intiative under Youth Beyond Boundaries in the year 2014. It was an initiative to reduce the number of dropouts among refugee children in Malaysia. This project was established to sponsor refugee children with financial difficulties to continue schooling and gain a better education. SACP is an annual project that has been receiving tremendous support from the public and corporations in Malaysia to achieve the primary goal of providing a better education for financially unstable refugee children.
