ESR Environment Sharing: Rescuing Food, Reducing Waste
Community & Environment
Eat Smart
The ESR team hosted a meaningful session focused on rescuing food and reducing waste. The event kicked off with an engaging ice-breaker, uncovering surprising facts about our daily food habits. A highlight was the inspiring sharing and forum with Ms. Sarah Grasset from The Lost Food Project (TLFP). She revealed TLFP’s incredible achievement of rescuing over 8 million kg of food since 2016, translating to 25 million meals, significantly reducing waste and supporting communities facing hunger.
Ms. Grasset emphasized that food waste, especially with packaging, contributes to harmful gas emissions and climate change, while many suffer from hunger. The session explored simple, impactful habits like meal planning, buying local produce, and using reusable containers to reduce waste. This event underscored that responsible consumption is a collective effort towards environmental sustainability and food security, encouraging all to make a real impact.
